TEASER

So I'm not going into too much of the details but if you'd like to check out the new website I've been working on with 2 buddies of mine here it is: metalboxdesign.com It's still in the beta phase as we are working through setting it up, but I figured I'd give the Dp. fans a bit of a preview of what's to come. You can see there is some of the older Dp. gear available for purchase and a quick peak at some of the new "Salt & Sea" themed apparel that is on the presses as we speak.

Also I will be putting all future posts through that site so be sure to check it out as it will be in the same concept as the Dawn Patrol blog. Except we'll have more to offer from posts to apparel to art prints etc...
Ya heard? -Be well

NEW & FRESH things are about to happen...

I've been working hard with a few old companions on a new old project. Yeah that makes sense in a weird way?? I think fans of Dp. as well as those who just like creative concepts that come to life will be intrigued. I'm excited and I hope you all will be too! Also, old unkept promises will finally be kept...
so stay tuned!

for now enjoy cricket posing for shadows.

Body Sliding Brethren

Pro's in europe from Javier Fleitas on Vimeo.

Speedbumps maybe, but you have to check out some of these guys bodyboarding. Pardon the bad music who are evidently trying to rip heavily off of Death Cab for Cutie and failing miserably. I'm sure your 12 year old daughter is rocking out hard to them right now!

R. Tatar & Tmoe

Ya may want to check out Ryan Tatar's latest post at his new blog posted above. It really is a full on array of different photos that take a glimpse into Thomas Campbell's world of art. Most of them are shot in one of Tmoe's studios. I always like to see the way artists work and how their actual environment is a reflection of their craft stylings as well.

Famous American artist, Grant Wood, is one who fully enveloped himself in his craft. He literally built everything around him in his house and studio. I'm talking about doors, windows, easles, flooring, shelves... His art and craftsmanship were reflected all around him. I'm not talking about no wrinky dink doors here either. I mean these were mother f'ers of doors. Looked like they were built for battle. And they had non-stop character in them to boot.

Keep smiling!

TW's new hand stylings for VonZipper optics advertisement

Tyler Warren did some pretty nifty drawings on a dry erase board for the new VonZipper Optics ad soon to run. He did these super cool drawings on the whiteboard and the models & photo shoot worked right off of the actual boards.
Cool stuff TW, my hat goes off to you.

COSTA RICA, February 2010
Pool overlooking the beach and surf. Not too shabby.

Our trees don't look like this right now. Actually they never look like this :(

Hermosa Palms complex. This is doable.

a nice view from the balcony lets you just barely see what awaits oceanside. Thanks to Roberta & Gene who opened up their home in Hermosa Palms to us... the house was amazing.

post-session. need food, need water!

Hermosa death barrels? Check. They got makable by the end of the trip as the swell direction changed

the self gratuitous close-up (this is before I burned the flesh off my body and about 2 minutes before Jess was tan like a tahitian princess. Yeah it was like that.)

houseguest #1- his eyes were amazing!

our other house guests... newts everywhere or geckos?
